LAHA MEMBERS, USAH has changed how they do initial registration. ...

We should have said in the email below that you still need to register with USAH and pay their fee, $46.  In addition you will need to pay the $185 skating pass from the County.

The board of directors has been working with the ice rink manager, Mike Lipiatt, to determine what can be done for us to play hockey this season.  Mr. Lippiatt has been working tirelessly  with his management and the state and met with the LAHA board on Wednesday last week to finalize a plan for the rink to open on November 30.  But, as we all have experienced with 2020, the best laid plans have to go by the wayside and the Governor's newest orders will delay the opening at least 2 weeks.  We will have to wait and see how it plays out, but when we are able to open there are some new requirements that will need to be followed.

1. Ice time will be used solely for skills development.  There will be no games.

2.  All kids and coaches are to wear a mask or face shield at all times, even on the ice.

3.  Only 11 people per session are allowed on the ice (including coaches).  No one will be allowed on the bench other than within the 11.

4. Each session will be limited to 60 minutes and everyone MUST get off the ice soon as the hour is up.  The rink management will need the time between sessions for cleaning and disinfecting.

5.  No locker rooms available. (It's sad-the new ones which look great.)

6.  Players need to ARRIVE at the rink READY TO SKATE.  This means that they will need to be fully dressed WITH SKATES ON.  Players will enter the rink with skate guards. Only the player will be able to enter the building.   (We are working on something for the youngest players as we are aware that they will need help getting on the ice--stay tuned as we work out the logistics)

7.  The rink cannot fill water bottles EVER. Bring your own water bottle as you will not be able to fill it there.

8.  Parents cannot stay and watch from the warming hut or from anywhere inside the fence of the rink.  At best they can watch from outside the fence while maintaining social distancing and following state protocol.

At this time, Registration is open for returning players as we are limited to 40 players per age group.  We will open the registration for new players once we make sure that we can accommodate returning players this season.   As you see in the title, we are not charging a fee this year due to the reduced season in all capacities. The LAHA board hopes this can help returning players have a chance to play hockey this season.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.  We look forward to seeing you this season.

USAH has changed how they do initial registration.  Every player and volunteer must register with USAH first before they sign up for LAHA (not up yet)!!

As of April 1, 2020, we can register for next year.  I know this may seem a little pre-mature with COVID-19 all around us, but it is the way it is. We also do not know yet if our rink project will be affected by this virus.  So far, it has not. USAH also has decided that they are using one national screening organization instead of lettting each affiliate choose their own background screening company.  Also, there is a $30 charge for this per paerson.  However, this fee is being absorbed by LAHA ($10 and LOEAHA $20 (state affiliate to USAH).  Since, you only need background screening for 18 year olds and all adult volunteers every 2 years, this on the average is only $5 to LAHA/person/year.

To register for next year's hockey with USAH and file the application for back ground screening use this link

You will be able to register with USAH first in this link.  Then do the background screening.  If you are uncertain if you need the background screening, there is another page that will allow you to check your status before you go forward to screening.

When you register with USAH, you will get a receipt that says "CONFIRMATION NUMBER".  It does not say your USAH number for 20-21 but the confirmatioin number is your USAH number.  When you start right off with the screening process there will be a blank that asks for your USAH number but there is already a number there.  It is not your number, you must type in your USAH number for 2021.  I reported this to USAH and hopefully they will be cleaned up.

Also, when you have finished your screeing process, you will get a screen that shows PayPal button, DO NOT CLICK THAT BUTTON, just be patient and that screen will update and USAH pays for the screening at this level.  You will also need a photo ID, such as drivers license, passport, birth certificate, state ID, etc. to upload

I have gone through all of this, so I could help anyone who needs to do this.  It is a pretty good system for USAH registration and for background screening.  Contact me by email or phone (top of website).
